Service 06 — Concrete & Compliance
From dumpster pads that survive garbage trucks to ADA curb ramps with detectable warnings, Star's concrete crews handle the structural and compliance work that keeps commercial properties functional and lawsuit-free: curb and gutter, equipment pads, accessible ramps, and ADA parking lot compliance done to spec.
Accessible parking is one of the most commonly cited — and most cheaply fixed — compliance failures on commercial properties. The requirements are specific: a minimum count of accessible spaces scaled to lot size (roughly one per 25 stalls), van-accessible spaces with wider access aisles, slopes under about 2% in all directions on the space and aisle, correct signage heights, and an accessible route from parking to the entrance with compliant curb ramps and detectable warnings where pedestrians cross vehicle paths.
Enforcement rarely starts with an inspector; it starts with a demand letter or a drive-by lawsuit — and settlements routinely cost multiples of what compliant construction would have. We audit lots against current standards, fix the concrete (ramps, slopes, aisles, warnings), coordinate the markings and signage, and document everything so retail owners and public facilities have a defensible record. If the surrounding pavement needs work too, our asphalt crew handles transitions in the same mobilization.
